‍Summary

This position would be a great opportunity for a Branch Manager who is looking to take the next step in growing within a local community financial institution. As a key member of our business development efforts, the Small Business Development Officer will be responsible for identifying, acquiring, and nurturing relationships with small businesses, their owners and employees (Select Employee Groups of “SEGS”) within our community. They will work closely with the VP/Branch Administration Officer to develop training and support our Branch Managers to help them develop relationships with the small business community within their respective markets. The Small Business Development Officer will play a vital role in expanding our business portfolio and ensuring the overall growth and success of Har-co Credit Union.

Responsibilities

• Identify and target potential small business clients to expand the credit union’s business portfolio.
• Build, maintain and grow strong relationships with existing and new business clients, their owners and employees ensuring their financial needs are met and providing exceptional service.
• Work closely with internal teams and external vendors, including lending, operations, marketing and service/product providers to ensure seamless delivery of products and services to small business clients, their owners and employees.
• Attend events at the small businesses, community events, business forums, and networking functions to promote Har-co Credit Union and establish a strong presence within the local business community.
• Prepare regular reports on business development activities, including key performance indicators (products and services sold via SEG/small business initiates) and achievements, for management review.
• Assist in the development of small business relationship strategies, particularly with regard to LoanStar point-of-sale and Treasury Management/Cash Management/Merchant Services initiatives.
• Annually prepare a strategic plan for small business development.
• Collaborate with Branch Managers to train branch personnel in effectively supporting business members, including assisting with membership enrollment, account maintenance and servicing as the primary point of contact.
• Work with Branch Managers, Marketing, Retail and Commercial Lending through introductions to small businesses, their owners and employees to support businesses within their respective markets and deliver solutions to SEG members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field or commensurate experience.
• Proven experience in small business development, preferably within the financial industry.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Internally motivated, takes initiative, can work independently with minimal supervision and have a creative and reflective approach to ideas and solutions
• Knowledge of Fiserv XP2 and Portico, Creatio (CRM), LoanStar point-of-sale and Treasury Management/Cash Management/Merchant Services knowledge will all be considered a plus.

Pay and Benefits: This is a full-time exempt position with an annual salary range of $65,000 to $80,000 with the possibility of an annual bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, voluntary short-term disability insurance, 11 paid holidays, paid time off based on years of service, and a 401(k) plan with employer match available.
